- eCU welcomes four more Credit Unions to its growing UPost client list.-
Harrisburg, PA - June 26, 2007 -eCU Technologies, an automated financial service technology provider for credit unions, announces the signings of four more credit unions in the second quarter to its UPost online deposit service. UPost allows credit union members to make electronic deposits and gain immediate access to those funds, while mailing in the actual check at a later date. eCU Technologies currently has a total of 30 UPost clients. The most recent signings are:
According to Clearstar Financial’s Vice President of Financial Services, Frances Munoz, the credit union implemented the online deposit technology to provide an added convenience to its members and to create new efficiencies that provide a cost savings to the credit union.
Munoz sees this solution creating efficiency by not having members waiting in the lobby. Also, Clearstar’s online deposit solution provides convenience to members who move away from the area but wish to continue to bank with the credit union. She also sees it as a benefit for those members who live close but cannot get to the credit union before it closes.
In addition to the member benefits, Munoz sees this solution’s automation eliminating teller errors when deposits are made manually. Lastly, she admits some Clearstar members are still skeptical about depositing to ATM's and the online deposit technology may be a way to alleviate their fear and still save the credit union money on processing.
“Overall, we see our online deposit solution helping us maintain our memberships when members move from the area,” Munoz says. “We also see it streamlining our teller area through the use of automation by the member. It is a convenience that truly allows them to control their credit union experience.”
“It’s very rewarding to see UPost consistently catching on in the industry today,” says Alan Brunner, COO for eCU Technologies. “Many people in the beginning were skeptical of this technology. Now the tables have been turned with some members still being skeptical of depositing funds to well-established ATMs who are now adopting online deposit. We’re pleased to have our latest credit union clients experience the many benefits that UPost offers.”
